FRIES has purchased a microwave to be delivered on May 8th to the Teacher’s Room. With that in mind Marissa has put together a “grab and go” buffet of quiche and granola bar for this Thursday! They can warm up their quiche in the new microwave!

Schedule of when each classroom will run:
The 250 yard “tiger track” will be identified with cones and will be on the Winthrop front field. The children will go to the track with their class at their designated time. Students will be on the track for approx. 15 minutes and can run, jog or walk the track as many times as they want in the timeframe. All children will participate and all will receive a small gift. Water will be provided during the event.
Shorter course for younger students will be located on the grassy area in the front of the building near the kindergarten classrooms.

At this event you will be able to meet the educators who have received Feoffee grants and learn about the enriching programs they are creating for all Ipswich students!

Special Event: Mini-Golf
Students to Design Golf Course Made of Donated Non-Perishables!
Donated Items and Player Participation to benefit Open Door
Here is how it will work:
- Donate Non-perishable food items to the Winthrop School. Send canned goods, sealed boxes of cereal, pasta, sealed oatmeal canisters, with students or drop items off in the lobby by January 27th.
- Students Design and Build Indoor Mini-Golf Course: In a teacher-guided engineering design challenge, students will utilize the non-perishables to creatively design and build an indoor mini-golf course in the Winthrop School.
- Come Play the Course to Benefit Charities! Families, friends, and community members are invited to play the course for a donation. Thank you to the generosity of White Farms Mini Golf for the use of clubs and balls!
- Donations and Non-Perishables Gifted to Charity: On Sunday, January 31st, students and volunteers will pack and present donated funds and non-perishables to Open Door.

Count your loose change for Winthrop! The Institution for Savings is once again, donating 100% of the fee for using their coin counter at any branch. The C.O.I.N.S. for Cause program donates to all schools in the area, February is designated for the Winthrop school!

This is a dynamic classroom approach where students actively explore real-world problems and challenges.
